The Indian Flag is Proud of its Warriors!!
The Navy provided rescue assistance to the Government of Sikkim and Uttar Pradesh in April and July 96. Naval ships and aircraft also rendered assistance in search and rescue operations to save life and property, in the wake of a severe cyclone which hit the Western and Eastern coasts in June 96 and November 96. The Navy came to the rescue of the crew of a Brazilian cargo vessel, MV Tupi Bezois, which was grounded in the cyclonic storm in June. Naval helicopters also rescued the Captain and eight Pakistani Nationals, three Bangladeshi citizens, and four Indians who were abroad MV Mariner II, which was grounded in the cyclone.
