INHS ASVINI EQUIPPED WITH DIGITAL MAMOGRAPHY SYSTEM

The naval hospital INHS Asvini at Mumbai, added one more facility to its multi purpose super speciality infracture namely a Digital Mamography system. This state of the art Digital Mamography System was inaugurated by Mrs Kanwal Bedi, President Navy Wives Welfare Association (Western Region) in the Department of Radiodiagnosis and Imaging of the hospital. The high end diagnostic equipment is the first of its kind. This will be of extensive use to the large female population towards early detection of the dreadful disease called Cancer and thus ensure quality health care.

The machine has got the facilities not only to detect smallest lesion, which is not detectable by simple clinical examination but can take core biopsy from the tissue. This will help to diagnose the disease early.
